Art in the garden requires few tools and not much else other than a large dose of enthusiasm. You need a box of chalks, a nice flat area of concrete or stone and a selection of blooms, leaves and grasses. It's not permanent, so remember to grab your camera!
Mummy in the garden by R4.
You get lovely and chalky doing this, but it will all wash off easily and the pictures will gradually disappear after a splash or two of summer rain.
Oh I used to do this as a child on the pavement outside our front garden - and make hopscotch. Its the simple things that are the most fun.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful idea. I know a little (big) girl who will revel in this. And then a mummy who will be praying for rain!!

Yes its a great game something we all played when the children were young, its a shame we los all our pictures at least you have had the sense to take photographs!

Pavement artists of the future!
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely game. Maybe though I need to wait another three and a half years before Topaz will be up to it. Still we have a patio with lots of stone flags waiting.
ReplyDeleteAw, Mags, how cute are they? Just noticed your previous post so will catch up with that too.
ReplyDeleteBrilliant - and of course you can photograph them and keep them forever - if not in their original state! I think it is a wonderful idea and fantastically creative for children.
ReplyDeleteHello Mags. Lucy ours doen't break up until Friday though Mr Dave is home as of tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteThere is a box of chalks which nestles permanently in our porch and the kids often have 'keep out' or 'welcome' scrawled on the path depending on their mood. My favourite is when they draw hopscotch on the path - makes bringing the shopping in much more fun! xx
Those are gorgeous. I've never thought about combining chalk and flowers...fabulous. jxx
ReplyDeleteHi Mags - I have tagged you to do the 'random things about me' stuff. Just what you needed eh!
ReplyDeleteOh, that takes me back years. My baby's all grown up now and seeing your pictures really makes me miss those days - enjoy while you can!
ReplyDeleteThanks for such a fantastic idea. The eldest little pebble will be decorating our patio with gusto tomorrow I expect!
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't visited recently - colic in the new pebble prevents much blogging but still really enjoying the lovely Pembs posts.
