Okay, I confess - it's an obsession. But there is something about a lovely bloom which gladdens the heart, especially after a long cold winter. The first daffodils are lovely, but it is tulips that I really adore.
I love tulips, but they will not grow here. You can purchase one, put it in the ground and enjoy the bloom and then you might as well dig it up and toss it in the compost heap. A few come up each year but only one has ever rebloomed. Sad
My fav as well - love the black inky ones! My black inky one with the four legs has just done a bunk so I had better go and hunt her out before she does too much damage!
Great photos, a great selection of varieties too. Love them all. Just to say that I’ve added this post to a bit of a tulip photo fest I’ve been running all week. You can see it here. If you’ve any more pics you’d like to share we'd love to see them :-D
What a lovely obsession to have, thank you for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI love to see the parrot head ones growing but must admit prefer to see Tulips as a cut flower but can see how you love them!
ReplyDeleteThe first one, is exactly the colour of the lipstick I brought home when I was 15. My Dad went bananas and made me wash it off!

ReplyDeleteBear loves tulips, but doesn't do gardening very well. Maybe this year.
ReplyDeleteIn the meantime, I'll sit here and adore yours. And sigh!
